Hi everybody, I got the following problem. See if someone can help me.

I'm building a cube for a set of schools. Those schools are located in tree
different states around Brazil, so I have three different databases. I built
three different cubes, one for each state. Now, I need to have one vision of
the school financial performance as a hole, merging those three cubes. I
wonder if it's can be done and how.

It's important to say that although the cubes are identical, they have
different data on the dimensions and of course on the fact table.

Thanks in advance.

I beleive that if the three cubes share a dimension then you can combine the
three cubes into a virtual cube.

Take a look at linked cubes. It might help.

Are the different databases on different servers? If not, consider putting
them in one database and merging them in a virtual cube.

In either case, you'll have to do some synchronization of your dimensions
before you can accomplish this.

Cheers,
Richard

What do you mean with "you'll have to do some synchronization of your
dimensions"?

BTW: Nice mail

You mentioned that the dimensions had different data - but I gathered that
they were the same dimensions. For example, a schools dimensions for the NE
would have different schools than that of the SW - but it's still a school
dimension.

If this is the case, you won't be able to create a virtual cube with a singe
schools dimension unless they have the same structure and content.

Cheers,
Richard

They have the same structure but they don't have the same content.
