I am trying to install a copy of Visual Studio .NET but
need to get the Windows Component Update. There is no CD
that contains these files/programs and I am therefore
unable to install visual studio .net. Is there are place
where I can download these components or get them for free?

The Component Updates are included on the first CD of the install set. Are
you sure you have all the CDs?
