we've met a problem in our java application. using latest MS
JDBC driver, and running on windows 2000 server with sun jdk 1.4.1_01.
it takes VERY long time when connecting to sql server. does anybody
knows its reason?

Hi. Very likely it's the network or DBMS. If you switch back to the previous
driver, is it faster now?

I would suggest that you open an incident with Microsoft Product Support
Services via
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS, so that
we can have dedicated engineer to assist you. Issues with JDBC driver are
usually difficult to troubleshoot in newsgroups.
Have you checked raw connectivity speed from the problematic computer? If
you use Query Analyzer on the problematic computer, does it take long time
to connect to SQL Server and run queries? What are the CPU utilization and
memory when the problem occurred?
