The message is:
Error Source: Microsoft Transformation Services (DTS) Data Pump
Error Description: Data for source column 3 ("column_name") is too large for
the specified buffer size.
The destination column size is 500 in the table and the data in the import
file for that row and column is 280 characters.
Any ideas?

Yes, I did see that link in an earlier post. I changed the registry setting
to 0 and moved my row with the long string to the top of the file.
However, I still get the error. I've searched and searched on google, but
haven't a workaround for this problem. As indicated in the link you
provided, it does seem to be caused by a field string greater than 255
characters. When I cut the string down to less than this value, it loads
OK.
I'm stuck. Thanks for any thoughts.

I also switched from ODBC to OLE connection and it goes through.
