I am a relative newbie to the data warehouse design and use, but need to get
up to speed quickly.
Can anyone recommend any good books? I like the Wrox books and saw one there
that looked like it might be good, but does anyone have any other
recommendations? What about the MS Press books?

Thanks,
Scott Brookhart

The Wrox book, Professional Data Warehousing with SQL Server 7.0 and OLAP
Services by Youness is good but full of typos. Some of the code snippets
have typos which can be quite confusing. The Wrox web site doesn't have any
corrections listed.

Any of Ralph Kimball's books are well worth reading. Start with the Data
Warehousing Toolkit. It covers all the fundamentals.

Scott,

If you are planning to develop your DW with MS technology, there are two
good books:

* "Microsoft OLAP Solutions". ISBN 0-471-33258-5, from John Wiley & Sons,
Inc.
* "Microsoft Data Warehousing". ISBN 0-471-32761-1, from John Wiley & Sons,
Inc.

Also, for Dimensional Modeling is a must:

* "The Data Warehouse Toolkit". ISBN 0-471-15337-0, from John Wiley & Sons,
Inc.
