Are there tools for data cleansing that work with DTS?

I would like to incorporate some data cleansing into my ETL processing and
am looking for recommendations on how best to do this when using DTS.

Are there commercial DTS packages that help with things like de-duping of
records and that handle cleansing of phone number, addresses, ssns, etc?

If DTS packages are not the right way to go about this, what other tools
should I be looking into?

DTS should be able to handle virtually anything you need
done related to an ETL process. If you are looking for
something out of the box then you might want to look into
Informatica, Brio, Cognos, or another ET tool. These
products are not cheap. I would suggest utilizing DTS and
the various tasks it incompasses to achieve your goal
(unless money is not an issue).

Data Cleansing has little to do with ETL, there are
applications such as Vality www.vality.com (recently
merged with Ascential Software)on the high end and others
that will handle just name and address, because of the
high cost of these applications there are also outsourcing
solutions.

Most ETL tools Transform at the Meta data level, if you
really want to de dupe you'll need a data cleansing
product or service. If you are looking at this for postal
purposes, it is important that the tool or service you
choose is CASS certified, this will ensure that you get
the biggest discount possible from the U.S.P.S.
