Connecting Strings

I'm not sure I'm at the right place, but here it goes.
Using vs2008 and adding security using the default ASPNETDB.MDF database, my
provider informs
me they do not support that. So, I've managed to get it converted to MSSQL
and upload it to the host.
Now I must make changes to the webconfig file.
I've look at examples and they all seem to be different. I know these
things. The server name, Database name, Id, and password to connect.
Now what all do I have to change? What happens to the original ASPNETDB.MDF
that's located in the App_data folder? The controls are looking for
something different? As you can see I'm confused.
Can someone direct me, or give me the items I need to pay attention to?
