I'm having trouble with the SQL Server 200 ODBC client. Apparently, some
weird install on my system has destroyed the registry setting for the
client. Even a complete MDAC 2.7 reinstall isn't fixing it.
When I try to configure a DSN that uses the SQL Server driver, I get the
following two error messages in succession.
1. Message = The setup routines for the SQL Server ODBC driver could not be
loaded due to system error code 126.
2. Dialog Title = Driver's ConfigDSN, ConfigDriver, or ConfigTranslator
failed. Message = Could not load the setup or translator library.
In the ODBC Administrator, under the Drivers tab, the SQL Server driver is
listed, but none of it's properties, such as Version and Company are shown.
How do I fix this? I've tried a full SQL Server install and a full MDAC 2.7
install, and they don't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try removing the MDAC completely and installing MDAC 2.5 to begin with and if everything works with that then
upgrade it to MDAC 2.7.
Thank you
