Small Words are Spelled in SAPI 5.4

I wrote a quiz application that works with SAPI to ask the questions.
However, certain small words are spelled instead of spoken. For
example the text:

example the text:
"It is good for us that he runs as fast as he can to me." is
pronounced by SAPI 5.4 as:
I-T is good for U-S that he runs A-S fast A-S he can to M-E.
The program has been installed by various users and they all report
that this is a problem.
How can I get SAPI to properly say the small words here?
