So I just started the voice recognition for my Windows vista. i can do all
the commands that it tells me, until i get to the dictating part.
I say "Start Wordpad"
It pulls wordpad up.
then thats as far as I go.
I try dictating but nothing comes up on wordpad and the speech recognition
says "What was that?"
How do i get wordpad to begin typing what I am saying? or any other program
for that matter since it isn't working for Word, Notepad, or even website
addresses.

Did you train the user profile? Are you able to pass the Set up my
microphone applet? Are you using a good quality microphone designed
for speech recognition?

Read, "Getting Started with Windows Speech Recognition."
