VSS 2005 File chop truncation problem

Has anyone ever experienced (and solved) the truncation problem in VSS? We
experience this frequently on larger files when we check the file in. VSS
will "chop" or loose the last few lines of an ASCII file as evident when we
go to check the file back out again, or even get latest. The complete file
history is then corrupt and we are unable to get earlier versions and the
"Store only latest version" checkbox is mysteriously checked even though it
hadn't been before. Very frustrating as this is only discovered (potentially
days or weeks) later when the file is needed, in its entirety.
