I just applied the Frx Service pack 9 and 10. We just upgraded over the
weekend from Microsoft Dynamics SL 6.5 to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0.
I also tried to apply the suggestions from KB article 941591 no luck.
The problem is that we are unable to login to our Frx company. We are using
the new feature from Dynamics where we use the Windows Authentication on
Dynamics and I'm not sure if I need to do anything in the FRx to allow us to
get in.
The error I receive when we try the old way we used to login is
"The login failed for the [company ID] company. Make sure the login ID and
password are correct and verify the settings on the System Specific
Information page in Company Information"
under Detail we get
"FRX32.OFSIMain.CheckOFSIConnection
5: Unable to create RDO Environment. Please verify DSN information."
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Justin Jones
Did you print preview a report in Dynamics SL to setup the ODBC drivers?
Thanks,
Stephanie
I believe you have another thread open for this topic and I have replied to
that one. As Stephanie mentioned, it may be worthwhile to delete the
current ODBC's FRx is using and then do a Print Preview of a Trial Balance
report in SL which will automatically recreate these ODBC's.
Thank you,
Kelly Bjella

Actually, if you log-in to Dynamics SL and print preview any report, it will
automatically setup the ODBC connections for you. You should then be able to
log-in to FRx and avoid the OFSI error. Here are my Cliff's notes version of
what I do in an FRx install/upgrade. There is a knowledge base on FRx for
Dynamics SL 7.0, but if I remember correctly, you may need to add the
Master60sp user to the database and/or reset the password in SQL. In 7.0
(prior to the SP), I know the synchronize ownership and security caused the
password to be inconsistent. Once I reset the password in SQL, some of my
errors went way. So, you might try that as well.
1. Print report to establish ODBC.
2. Run GL Index scripts.
3. You must set the Master Password in FRx. To do so…open company
information and click on the second tab. If you don’t see the field for the
Master password. Close the screen, open Admin – Organization screen and
close it. This sets FRx to “Admin” mode, then re-open the company
maintenance screen. The Master password should now be available. This needs
to be set equal to the Mater60sp user password for Solomon/SQL NOT the mater
password of the database.
Tons of information. Hopefully I wasn't too confusing.
Let me know what you find.
Stephanie
For the "FRX32.OFSIMain.CheckOFSIConnection 5: Unable to create RDO
Environment. Please verify DSN information." Please verify that the
Master60SP password is correct in both SQL and FRx Company | Information |
System Specific. After you have verified that the Master password is
correct, please re-run the SL script(s) which came with your Service Pack
of FRx. This should clear up any problems with this error
Thanks!
