I downloaded the latest updates this morning and installed them on my test
servers. This update shows as "Security Update for Windows Server x64 Edition
(KB973869", and keeps showing up as an update to be installed after it has
already been apparently successfully installed. I installed it three times on
one server and twice on another, with no errors indicated, and I still have
the update balloon for that update in the system tray.

The problem has happened on all Win2003 x64 servers in my test group.

Same here. I haven't checked the update logs yet and I have tried rebooting
even though it says it's not necessary. It still comes back. Make it stop!

Same issue here with all x64 servers. Drives me nuts that WSUS says they're
out of compliance with this problem.

Hello

Just got of the phone with MS support (BTW thank you :- ) )

- Go to Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - check "show updates
Near the bottom you should find KB 373869 as installed

- The server(s) in question probably has IE7 installed (mine all had).
The issue appears to the detection mechanism that is confused by IE7.

And Yes -MS appears to be aware of the issue and will (hopefully) release
a updated patch.
