Is it possible to burn a CD with all the updates for that particular OS? Is
there a site that has all the updates downloadable but that doesn't try to
install them like Windows Update?
So basically if I rebuild a Win 98 (heaven forbid), Win2k or XP PC I can
install all the updates from the CD instead of d/l ing all the updates
again. As you can imagine it would save a lot of time.
Many Thanks
Adrian
Hi
1)
You might want this one as as a starting point:
The free Windows Security Update CD can be ordered from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp
The CD includes Microsoft critical updates released through October 2003
(and SP4 for Windows 2000 / SP1 for Windows XP) as well as information
to help you protect your PC.
Supports Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and
Windows 98 Second Edition (SE).
2)
You can also download the individual updates from the Windows Update Catalog:
HOW TO: Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166
For Windows XP computers, take a look at this post for what
security updates you at least should download and for a
recommended install sequence:

3)
Alternatively (or additionally), you can script the installations
yourself, here are some links that might be of interest for you:

system by Rob Dunn:
