Any help would be greatly appreciated! Although I suspect it looks like a
re-install might be the answer.

Many thanks for your post. I did not know of this site previously - most
useful.
However, having now worked my way through all the errors, it seems that
everything relating to WSUS is as it should be. Similarly IIS apears to be
correctly configured.
The one remaining thing that all the solutions suggest is to 'troubleshoot
any issues with SQL Server before proceeding'. I suspect that SQL is the
problem, because we did have a disk very nearly full situation at the same
time as this happened.
So, this Server does not have the full SQL, just the desktop version, which
of course is also being used by Sharepoint on this SBS2003 system.
There are no errors specifically pointing to problems with the SQL server,
so where do I find out how to 'troubleshoot' or health check it?
I'll search of course, but if anyone can point em there that would help
enormously.
Thanks,

The DSS Authentication Web Service is not working.
The SimpleAuth Web Service is not working.
The Client Web Service is not working.
The Server Synchronization Web Service is not working.
And so on.......
The answer is this.... Go into IIS, Web Services Extensions. In the right
pane you will see all the Web Service Extensions, if you have done any
updates to .NET "ASP.NET vWhatever's status will be prohibited, you need to
change this to "ALLOWED". Now you can open WSUS... YOU ShOULD NOT HAVE TO
MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES TO IIS>....... If this works let me know I would love
to here it. E. Sp...@univstainless.com

RESOLUTION:
I resolved my issue by removing the GUESTS account from the USER RIGHTS
ASSIGNMENT:DENY ACCESS TO THIS COMPUTER FROM THE NETWORK.
The account that is used for anonymous access is a member of the GUESTS
group. (This account is typically the IUSR_computername account.) see-->

Thanks RonPaskowski !
I had the problem for a few months, and I realised the problem started after
running the Security Wizard on the servers... A lot of things went wrong
afterwards, but I guess the servers are more secure now (even if a lot of
changes must be undone in order to make things work)
Can you explain to me step by step what you did b'cause am lost on where to
do.
