SNA Client / LUA Application

I'm trying to run my LUA application on a MS SNA Client machine and under
normal execution it works fine. However, I want to install my app to run as
a service under NT. When I do this, I get RUI errors saying something like
COMMS Subsystem not loaded or something like that. Again, the same app
works fine under normal execution.

The same app also works fine on a SNA Server machine, running as a service.

Anybody have any ideas?

What SNA client code do you use ( NT or Win95 on NT ) ?

Petr,
I use the Win NT Client code. The error in the RUI_INIT control block
response is COMM_SUBSYSTEM_NOT_LOADED and its a prim return code F004 (or
04f0) with a secondary of 0.

The same binary exe works fine to LUA when not running as a service.
Any ideas? It's getting krunch time for us.

Dan ,
do you run your program service under system or user account ? You have to
run it under user account
defined in SNA server .

I'm not sure what you mean Petr, "defined in SNA Server".

I can setup an account on the primary domain controller that is for
<sna_lua_app> and use this for the service to sign on. But does this
account also have to be added to the configured users list of the SNA server
subdomain, is that what you're suggesting?

THANKS!
Dan

Petr,
Maybe I'm really doing something wrong. I'm getting an error in my service
program, I think when it's either trying to access a Win32 semaphore or a
FileMapping object.

The access rights that I give this account, do they apply for the
workstation in which the service is going to be running? The access rights
for this account include "act as part of the operating system" and "Create
permanent shared objects" and on.

My struggle is that SnaBase (The ms sna client piece) doesn't seem to have
any trouble running on the workstation, yet my service, while it seems to be
starting, has problems doing some things to the system, like accessing some
system kernel objects.

Petr, is there a way to take this discussion offline?
Regards,
Dan

I eliminated some of the tracing that I was doing inside my Service program
and now it seems that I don't get the COMM_SUBSYSTEM_NOT_LOADED return code.
So, that's progress.

However, I still have an issue as to why this account gets "access denied"
when trying to access some system level objects, like an Event.

If you have any more suggestions, let me know. Thanks for your help.
