You will be able to install the SNA 4.0 Client onto your Windows XP
machine. However, in order for this to be supported you will also need to
install SNA SP4 on top of this install. You will get an error message that
this is not a supported OS when you are running the install, however this
is because the SNA 4.0 Client was written prior to Windows XP being
released.
You should have not problems communicating to your existing SNA 4.0 Server.
However, please take note that SNA 4.0 is no longer eligible for any fixes
unless you have an 'Extended Support' contract, as it is past it's
supportability lifecycle. I would strongly recommend upgrading to the
current version of Host Integration Server 2000, or the soon to be released
Host Integration Server 2000 as soon as possible.

I retract my previous statement. SNA 4.0 is *NOT* supported when running
on Windows XP. I had Windows 2000 and Windows XP confused in my head.
This is documented in the following KB Article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=327491
I apologize for any inconveninece this misinformation may have casued.
