At the moment we only use the SNA as a printer server
with NT server and it is going since long time ago.
We are in process to install the SNA server SP4 in a
Windows 2003 server enterprise edition, but we are not
sure it will run fine.
Could someone tell me if the compatibility is ok with
2003?
For now we don´t wnat to use HIS.
Thanks for your help.

I can understand your concern. We just upgrades 23 SNA 4.0 servers to HIS on
Windows 2003. What we did was an interim step where we upgraded the servers
to Windows 2000 first with SNA 4.0 and then made sure all the printing was
working with Windows 2000 print drivers and no OEM drivers. Once we did this
then we were able to upgrade to Host Integration Server on Windows 2003.
I know this was the long route but it was worth it because we have not run
into any SNA printing issues on our HIS server on W3K and we are 75%
complete with the migration and have migrated over 200 SNA print queues.
If you have the time to do this I would really recommend it.

It may work, certainly there is no block in the SNA Server 4 product to keep
it from working on Windows 2003. However, I have to remind you that it is
not tested and it is not supported. If you need a supported product for
Windows 2003 you should be looking at using Host Integration Server 2000 or
2004.
Having said that, I'm sure some people have had some experience trying to
use SNA Server 4 on Windows 2003 and hopefully they will share their
experiences with you.
