I cannot for the life of me get SCCM installed and working. I have 2 servers
one for front end (Win 2008 64-bit) SCCM and the other hosts the SQL box and
SMS Provider (Win 2008 64-bit/SQL 2008). Lets call the SCCM box Server1 and
the sql/sms provider box server2.
So I keep getting the error below after setting it up. i get through the
prerequisite checker and the install with no issues. The database even
shows up on Server2 and the install log is clean. Then I start noticing the
below error in the Status but cannot find anyting on it. I have added
Server1 to Server2's Local Administrators group and Vise Versa. I have
verified that in SQL "BUILTIN\administrators" is pretty much God on the sql
box with all server roles and all user mappings. And yet the "Accesss is
Denied" What the heck.
On top of that the component "SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_SERVER1" is stuck in
"installing "Thread state", my guess is due to permissions as well. Let me
know if you need any more info Im not a SCCM expert by any means. Please
Help.
thank you!

The SQL service is running under "Local System". I saw that article but it
says only to use it if you are not using the "Local System" account to run
your SQL service. Although I did notice that SQL server agent was running
under NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE so I just changed it to "Local System"
thanks for the help.

One more thing as its still not functioning. Our backend SQL 2008 db is the
same one used in our Sharepoint Environment. Don't know if it matters.
Please help.
Also, here are some log entries from sitecomp.log

ERROR: NAL failed to access NAL path "MSWNET:\\Sqlserver\admin$\", probably
because the machine is down, the network is down, or the Site System
Connection Accounts are misconfigured. NAL INetworkObject::IsAccessible()
returned 0x80070005: The operation completed successfully.

I would not recommend having ConfigMgr's SQL on the same SQL server as
anything else, it is asking for trouble.

Does the Admin$ share still exist? Can the ConfigMgr computer account
access it?
