Anyone know what this key does? or how to repopulate it? I have clients in
workgroups that are no longer"talking" to the SMS site server. I have
noticed that this key is empty on bad sites and populated on working sites.

SMS 2003 SP3

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

This key is regarding the trusted root key of the Management point.

Re-create the TrustedRootKey by using the following procedure:

In Notepad, open the file C:\sms\bin\i386\mobileclient.tcf.

Copy the key that comes after SMSPublicRootKey=, and save the key to a
text file in any location you choose.

Install the client by using one of the following three methods and the
appropriate syntax:

CCMSetup/trustedkeyfile:<Fullpathandfilename>

msiexec /i \\server\share\client.msi /L*v c:\install.log
SMSROOTKEYPATH=<Fullpathandfilename>

Capinst.exe /advcli /advlicmd /trustedkeyfile:<Fullpathandfilename>
