Can SCCM 2007 distinguish Project Std from Project Pro? If so, how do we
query? Our company is a new user of SCCM, so please provide as many details

Sure, it's distinguished in the 'Add/Remove Programs' view. So check out the
report "Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove
Programs"

Programs"
Put in "microsoft office project%", then click on Values... to pick which
one you want a count of.
