Hi,

I'm a subscriber of MSDN and have downloaded the above SMS software.
I'm using it as a SMS server. I have a question whether we need to buy separate
license for the SMS client install on different machines.
Lets say I have to install on 10 clients. Does it come with a license cap
on the numbers on clients which can be installed and necessarilyt registered.

Thanks

Regardless of where you obtained the installation media, licensing is
required. SMS 2003 is no longer sold; it's been renamed to System Center
Configuration Manager. Check here for licensing information and pricing:
http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/configurationmanager/en/us/pricing-licensing.aspx

Make sure you read through the entire licensing statement, especially the
footnotes. There are considerations regarding SQL Licensing. Also, if you
already have client licensing through an existing Microsoft Client licensing
agreement, you may not have to purchase additional client CALs just for
ConfigMgr. But only your Microsoft representative can answer what client
cals you have now, and what they cover.
