Although my system appears to be working okay, I would like to know what
this means. It has happened every couple minutes or so in the System Event
Log for the last month.
I am familiar with the DCOM access process, since I setup access for the Web
Reposts (SMS Reporiing Users) earlier today.
The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation
permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D452CB77-FB08-4CB3-B7EE-2F5369982BBE}
to the user SMS-CIT\IUSR_SMS-CIT SID
(S-1-5-21-1588925500-2812294371-4255715676-1011). This security permission
can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
good luck :-)

WinMgt error is:
A provider, PolicyAgentInstanceProvider, has been registered in the WMI
namespace, root\ccm\Policy\S_1_5_21_2087915065_840266774_1601773907_37851, to
use the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may
cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests.
DCOM error is:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch
permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{05D1D5D8-18D1-4B83-85ED-A0F99D53C885}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18). This security permission
can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
I have been able to fix this on individual machines by running the dcomcnfg
and setting the network permissions...but am doing this on and individual
machine basis and our enviornment is: over 140 W2KSP1 servers, over 4,000 XP
SP2 workstations.... is there a better way to do this, or is there a
configuration I could make on the SMS site server itself? (We are running in
advanced security)
