My SMS client service login account keeps changing back to:
.\SMSCliSvcAcct&. I change the logon account for the
service startup to an NT domain account, but it seems to
revert back to the default account. Is there something in
SMS that would cause the logon account to change back to
the default account and if so is there any way to turn
this off so SMS won't overwrite the NT domain account for
the service to startup?

This is the default SMS Client behavior and cannot be changed as during
installation this account is granted certain permissions such as logon as a
service, etc, and if you change it it will revert back at the next 23 hour
CCIM cycle. Why are you trying to change it?

I kind of inherited SMS and am learning it as I go along.
We use a service account with Domain Admin rights for the
service to start. The biggest problem though is that when
the workstations boot up and the services start, the SMS
client service will not start up with the default logon
account. I'm not sure if the account is locking out on the
workstations or what. Is that default account a local
domain account or does it need rights on our enterprise
domain? If so, I can reset the accounts passwords on the
local machines and match them up with our domain account.

This account should stay local, only your SMS Service Account needs to be a
DA. What SMS Service Pack level are you at?
