Microsoft Small Business Financials Freezes on Login

Fresh install of Windows XP SP3 with all the updates. Installed the latest
version of Microsoft Small Business Financials (9.00.0115) Multi-User Client
and pointed it at the server. When you open the program it has the drop down
with the databases on the server, so you know it's talking to the server. But
when the user attempts to log in with his correct credentials, the program
hangs ("Not Responding") and never comes back (I gave it a half hour). If you
type incorrect credentials the program hangs for a few minutes and then comes
back and says there was an unknown error during credential verification. Does
anyone have a fix?
