Search Error

Hi

I have installed Sharepoint portal server and SQL 2000 server as the
database using the Web Farm type installation.

My sharepoint site all are working perfectly fine, i just have two small
issue for which i have not been able to get answers till now... I hope you
guys will be able to help me out.

1. I have Full text search on in my sharepoint portal and SQL Engine. I am
able to search in the portal if i am browsing a sub site of the portal, but
when i try doing a search using the same query from the home page of the
portal, the search returns me zero result.

2. I have a document library on the portal, access given to everyone. One of
the contents in the document library is a zip file of 3.5GB in size, when i
try downloading that file, i am not able to download the whole file, it just
downloads 1MB or so and says the download is complete.

Probable reason : While creating a site, you didn't checked the search
option for that site. Thats why its not returning a result.
