Is there Advanced Document Search?

Hi,
I'm new to SharePoint and I am trying to find an advanced search
capabilities of the Sharepoint. One and the most important thing that seems
to be missing is the "Advance Search". I want to be able to find documents
with different criterias like date range or properties or file type. All I
found is the view filter but that is only a solution to that library. I want
to look for any documents in any libraries.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

Click the magnifying glass by the search box to get the advanced search page.
Then you'll see things like searching in a date range or by document type,
etc...
