Making a document non-searchable

Is there a way to make have a document in a library where you can be working
on it but have it not show up in the portal search. I do not want people to
see this document until it is completed.

I was thinking that maybe setting the library for approval and having the
document in a pending stage would do this. Would this work? Any other
ideas????

Putting the document in Pending state would allow it to NOT be search upon.
Also, setting the document as a draft will work as too.
