When attempting to search a WSS site (while having it listed under "Portal
Content" for Sharepoint PS 2003 to index), I receive this error and the site
never indexes:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Microsoft SharePointPS Search Service
Event Category: Gatherer
Event ID: 3036
Date: 7/17/2005
Time: 9:50:00 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER
Description:
The content source <http://wss.site.com> cannot be accessed.

Context: http://portal.server.com Application, Portal_Content Catalog

Details:
An unrecognized HTTP status was received. Check that the address can be
accessed using Internet Explorer. (0x80041204)

Any idea on what this error means and how to correct it? SQL 2000 SP4 and
Microsoft Search are both running as Local System (because I had some issues
getting full-text to work running SQL as a domain user). The server is
Win2K3 SP1 and is also a Domain Controller.

Thanks,
Trevor

I fixed this in WSS by unticking the enable indexing, hitting OK, and then
reenabling indexing and hitting OK. It built the initial index.
