Protocol Handlers for SPSSearch are not loading

I was in the middle of a Exchange 2003 server installation when I had a
memory error. The server failed, but I was able to bring it up again.
Everything is working fine except for SPS 2003, in particular the search
gatherer. In the event log, I have 8 errors, all along the pattern of

The protocol handler SPSSearch.MatrixHandler.1 cannot be loaded. Error
description: The specified module could not be found.

The errors are different handlers, all SPSSearch. I'm assuming that these
handlers are the COM dlls in the SPS bin folder, but my attempts to register
them using regsvr32 failed, with the error the specified module could not be
found. I've verified that the files are there, so I'm not sure what's going
on. I've tried doing both a repair and a reinstall of SPS. How can I
reregister or reinstall the protocol handlers?
