I am having a problem creating links from inside of a document to another
document in the library.

I have a Powerpoint file that I want to insert links into, the links will
open other documents that are currently in the same document library as the
presentation. The links appear to be created normally, but when you try to
use thelink while viewing the presentation from inside Sharepoint, it
replaces the absolute path of the file with a path on my local hard drive to
my docs and settings folder....really weird...

If I put a website address in as the link, it works fine. This is only a
problem when linking to another document that is in the document library.

Any ideas??

Chuck

Hi Chuck,
I'm sorry not to give you any answer but simply tell you that I'm having a
very similar problem with a Powerpoint file.
When it is created on my local disk with an embedded .mpeg file, then
transferred to a Sharepoint site, the link points to the same docs and
settings local path you're talking about.
When created on the Sharepoint site itself, it seems that there is
unfortumately no way to insert into this Powerpoint file a direct link to an
.mpeg file that is already resident inside the document library.
I'm only hoping someone gives you an answer that applies to my problem as
well.

Many thanks to anyone that can help,

François
