Our organization (~500 people) has ~20 Project Managers, each one responsible
for his/her own schedule.

These schedules have some interdependancies. In addition, we have program
managers (~5) and functional managers who are interested in master schedules.

We use SharePoint as support for collaboration.

We have considered several possibilities to manage links between schedules
(either external links or master schedules) but found no satisfactory
solution:
- with SharePoint: MS Project doesn't allow Master schedules or external
links for schedules stored in SharePoint.
- with Project server: the Microsoft assistance site states that "Saving the
master projects to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 can result in
erroneous reporting data." (
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP453079761033.aspx ).

Is there any workable solution for managing links between schedules?

I haven't had a reason to implement Project Server in conjunction with
SharePoint but is there a way you have Project or Project Central use an
Exchange based calendar? If so you may be able to leverage Exchanges
scheduling features to get around the problem.
