Viewing docs but Hiding the names of other users in a workspace???

We're experiencing a problem with a sharepoint site that stores docs for
customers related to various deals. These custs are bidding against each
other and need to be anonymous to each other.

But when a user opens a shared document using Office2003, they see the
shared workspace task bar that reveals all the other interested parties.

Any ideas for strategies for hiding this?
