Hi all,
I am a studnt learning and working on Sharepoint Portal Server and Windows
Sharepoint Services.
I tried to copy and paste a HTML page in the text editor for Portal
Listings. It worked fine with small pages.
But for large pages there was a error:
"The HTML page is <number> characters too long"
a content editor web part can be added and the page can be uploaded.
But what is the way to add large pages as listings?

Please suggest!!

Sonya,

Why not create a Link List web part? Should be able to get to it from
http://localhost(or Whatever the IP address is of the machine you're
working on)/sites/nameOfSite/_layouts/1033/create.aspx

Just create a Link List and you can put all the links you want in there.

If you want to create a listing on the Portal level then you just do
something similar with the SiteDirectory.

Is that what you're looking to do?

hi gg,
thanks for the reply.
i want to "group" and order documents and also listings under different
groups. So I wanted to create a listing under a group. But the HTML page to
which I wanted to create a listing(when copied and pasted into the tsxt
editor meant for listings) is too long giving an error message.
So how to add the listing?

Have you thought about using the Content Editor webpart or using a
Pageviewer webpart to an HTML page you maintain outside of SP?
