Hello all,

As you now, the standard for Edit Document in SPS is Check Out and Check In
for only one user. Our user have an Excel Share file from file server and
want put that file in the SPS.
I try create a workspace/document library but only one user can edit in one
time (the other is Read Only). If we put this file in sharing folder, all
user can edit in the same time.

Is there any way to make like this in SPS? if yes How?

Any info on how I can go about this would be most helpfull.

Best Regards,
Cahya

Cahya,

Maybe I don't understand this, but what use would that have?

User A opens a doc, makes changes, User B opens it too, and makes changes
(they now both have a local copy). User A Saves, User B saves, overwriting
user A's changes right?

I'm not making fun here, I'm trying to understand why and how you would be
using this.

Ed

Thanks for your respons,

In Microsoft Excel we have facility to make Share File (Share Workbook from
menu Tools). If we activate this and put the file in Share folder all user
can access in the same time from File Sharing and get update while they work.

How to make this in SPS? Can we make more than one user Check Out in the
same times? or there is another way to handle this?

Thanks,
Cahya

Check Out won't work I'm afraid. Have you tried using a Sharepoint document
library as a network place? You can create a new network place using
\\server\doclibname
