Sharepoint development approach

Hi,

Could someone validate our project approach and tell us your feedback?

It is an development project. Technologies involved - MOSS, WCF, SQL Server
2005, VS 2008 (for custom controls)

Our Approach:
----------------

1. Develop the individual screens as user controls in visual studio.
2. Deploy the UI, to sharepoint, as a webpart.
3. Deploy the codebehind files, to sharepoint, by creating a strong names
assembly and deploying to GAC
4. Use WSPBuilder to deploy the application to sharepoint
