An excel file was checked out but Excel closed down unexpectedly, and now
when I try to edit the file, it says I already have it open.

The undo checkout action has been used but when trying to re-check this
document out the same eror occurs. Is there anyway to break this lock on the
file??

nb. sorry about the previous duplications - when I post a message an
"unknown error" occurs so assume that no post had been made.

Hi Rok IT,
First check: Settings>Document Library Settings>Manage Checked out Files and
check in the file if it's listed (Lucky Break)
Otherwise when this happened to me I found that if I just waited 15 minutes
the lock was eventually released.
