If you want to pick a language when the template is selected during the
creation of a site just install the language packs.

Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack

2007 Office System Language Packs for SharePoint Server 2007, Forms Server
2007, Project Server 2007, and SharePoint Server 2007 for Search

Hi Mike,

thanks for uoyr response. i have all language packs installed and they work
fine. that's not the problem. i want to install the 40 sharepoint
application templates
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=aae4cb5a-91d2-4f1b-9a45-3bb894e218f8&DisplayLang=en)
in three different languages, on the same sharepoint server. is this
possible? i have a english sharepoint server, with english application
templates installed. when i try to install the application templates in
another language, i get the message "solution already exists".

TIA
k

I did a quick google on the topic, and found this. May not be helpful,
but anyway:

http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/adir_ron/archive/2007/04/10/Free-_2200_SharePoint-Site-Template_2200_-Language-Converter.aspx

It indicates that only the Site Admin templates include other
languages.
