So I logged on to administration website for our share point server as
DOMAIN\Administrator to do some server configuration. I told IE to save the
user and password. But now when I access the team sites I'm still seen as
DOMAIN\Administrator and not DOMAIN\brian. So it's checking out documents
and what not as the wrong user. How can I change my id BACK to
DOMAIN\brian.

If you have integrated security, it will attempt to send the credentials of
the username you've currently used when logging in to your servers/domains.
You'll either have to disable Integrated Security (enabling Basic in the
process) for your web, or make sure you've logged in to your machine/your
network as DOMAIN\brian.

I am logged in as DOMAIN\brian that's why I had to send login information to
the sts server in order to use the admin page. I've even rebooted my client
machine, and restarted IIS on the server but to no avail. How can I enable
basic security? I'm extremely new to IIS.

Ok I found a soltion. I went to
IE -> Tools -> Options -> Security -> Custom Level -> User Authentication
I set it to prompt for user name and password. Closed IE and opened back
up. Next time I went to the SPS Admin site it prompted me for a
login/password. I typed in administrator and this time told it *NOT* to
remember the password. :) I set the security settings in IE back to
Automagically logon with current user and pass. So now it prompts me at the
Admin site. But I can still get to the team site as my regular domain
account. As long as I don't tell it to remember the Admin password seems to
work fine.

Thanks for your help.
