I am running SPTS under W2K with MSDE since a couple of days. I am still
setting up the structure and have EVENTS, LINKS and TASKS on my first
page. I was populating doucment libraries with documents when I got a
call from a user stating the he only gets error message on the home page.

Unfortunatley he was right. I am also getting the following error messages:

==> The list or view of a list that is referenced here no longer exists.

This message is repeated for the LINK, EVENT, TAKS and ANNOUNCEMENT
section on the first page.

So I was thinking a RECALC of the site will solve the issue - but I was
unsuccessful.

Everything else seems to work fine. I can go into the TASK section and
still see all the tasks (same with DOCUMENT LIBRARIES etc.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had that today as well. I fixed it by updating the home page objects in
FrontPage. basically, relinking the "tasks" list with the Tasks object.

I did it wrong the frist time, but you can copy those objects from one site
to another. If you mess up, jsut create a new default site and copy those
objects from the new site to the old one (regular copy-paste in FrontPage).

Hope that helps.

Thanks Derek, I couls solve it by going into SITE SETTINGS ==> CUSTOMIZE
HOME PAGE LAYOUT and moving all LISTS to the NOT SHOWN section... saved
it... and put all the lists back in place (including a save).

I am still curious how this can happen...

This problem and solution is mentioned in FAQ2 III.5.1. "Note that if your
default.htm does not display correctly".

Do you think I should add your message as a seperate new FAQ item ?

Mike,
I would like to see it as a seperate entry since it is NOT obvious to
find the solution for this problem when you just read through the index.

Appreciate your effort keeping the FAQ up-to-date
