My users (on an intranet) all want to use search to find spreadsheets and edit them directly from the search results.
It's crazy to do a search then have to copy & modify the URL of a result / navigate manually - just to be able to edit the spreadsheet! Crazy, stupid, dumb! At least Word 2010 allows you to Check Out a document (in the server bar). Excel doesn't have this feature.
Anyone else found a way around this with Excel 2007/2010?
