Is their a way to prevent the initial login if a user does not provide the
domain name?
Also another login issue that happens whether or not the user supplies the
domain name in the login. Is there a way to prevent the user from having to
resupply credentials to download a file from the portal such as a word
document? I noticed that if you login and access the portal from the
Internet, and then try to download a word (or any other document), you have
to resupply your credentials.
Thanks
It could well be that the additional security requirements of the Internet
security zone rather than the Intranet security zone is causing this second
login request.

Thanks for posting here!
I notice that you have two questions there.
- You would like to know how to prevent a user not log on the site from
Internet if he didn't input his domain credential.
- User is always prompted for the credential information when he download
the files from SPS Sites.
With your first question, I think we can test it by disabling anonymous
access in IIS for this issue.
Please uncheck the Enable anonymous access in the Directory Security tab on
the Properties windows under your SPS web site in IIS.
For the second question, I think we can take Mike's suggestion to adjust
the security zone in Internet Explore.
Thanks for your Mike's excellent sharing!
Beat wishes to you all!
