Unable to check in a checked out file.

Having a weird issue with one of my users, he checked out a PPT file
from our sharepoint portal and now when he tries to check it in he
gets the following message:

"The documen was checked out to your local drafts folder but the local
copy could not be found or is on a different computer. Upload the
local changes or discard your checkout to continue editing"
The file he's trying to check in is in the draft folder and looks
good.
I've found several similar issues but none of their solutions worked.
Any suggestions?

I do have same problem as you stated on wss 3.0 but in all machines.
In my machine,it is working good.But other using facing this problem.
this can be resolved by installing sp2.
