I have the same problem. Smigrate will authenticate and grab the manifest
for some of the subwebs but for the majority it gives the 6553609 error.

If you are not running smigrate from the server itself, then it will login to the server using your local account. If that account does not have admin priveleges on the server (not sharepoint, but the actual box) - then you will get this error. You should use the user and password options on the command line for an account on the server that has admin priveleges:
- u domain\adminaccount -pw XXXXXXXX

Were any of you able to resolve this issue. I too have made the changes
recommended in the two articles posted and I have also tried everything
mentioned with no luck.

Has anyone been able to figure this out yet? I have the same problem. It used to work until a couple months ago when we changed the internal Ip address of the server and now it no longer works. I've followed the kb articles about changing the settings in IE which didn't work. I made sure the changed IP addresses were set in IIS.

I've also noticed that when I try to access the SharePoint sites from the SharePoint server console it prompts me for a username and password which I give the domain admin account and it just keeps coming back prompting for the username and password. I can access the sites from any other server and PC on the network just not from the SharePoint server.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Keith

I also tried creating a local account on the server with local admin rights,
but I still get the same issue.

I've looked at the MSKB article and made the suggested changes to IE, but
still no luck. Any suggestions are appreciated
