I have a document library...and I have created different views for it..I have
added a column that will determine the View...Is it possible to tie security
around a sharepoint view
i.e View1 should be visible to group 1 and view2 should be visible to group 2

I have tried using "Audience Targetting Settings" but have not been
successful. Please advise the steps in detail as to how to use "Audience
Target Settings" if that is the solution.

Three possible solutions:
"Audience Targeting"
Item Level Permission by setting value to "me"
Third party tools like SharePoint View Permission.
Sorry I did elaborate on them respectively due to too much
information. Google can help you on that.
Good luck!

SharePoint views are not designed to be security trimmable.
THe suggestions offered above may offfer alternative methods.
