Downloads from SharePoint to Mac have wrong modified date

When I download a group of files, they all have the wrong modified date. Say
for example the modified date on SharePoint says August 3 at 19:45 and I
download items on August 4 at 22:45:
• A single file has a the same modified date as the SharePoint
• A group of files is in a zip folder. The folder itself has August 4 at
22:45 -- and is named "OneDrive_2_8-4-2022” which is okay but I wonder why
it’s named OneDrive, which the customer does use -- BUT anyway, the
enclosing folders have the correct date & time, but the files inside are WAY
off -- usually, in the future. Files download tonight have a modified date of
August 5 at 01:51!
If I open the download files then save, they snap back to the correct time of
the save.
I don’t know if the SharePoint host is in a different time zone? Any ideas?
