Hi there,

I am working on a client application that talks to Active Directory domain
controller to manage user's Unix attributes (Server fot NIS, Windows Server
2003 R2). I have a couple of simple questions.

1) After the installation of Server for NIS, I can migrate an NIS domain to
an existing AD domain, right? Or, should I create a new AD domain for the
migration of the NIS domain?

2) When using "Active Directory Users and Computers", on the "Unix
attributes" tab of the user object, where are the names in "NIS domain"
stored in Active Directory? Are they just the AD domain names?

A default NIS domain is created that can be used. You can create more
NIS domains as well in a single AD domain.

You can find the NIS domain names under System > RpcServices >
YpServ30 > Passwd. I guess one DomainInfo object is created for each
NIS domain in AD.
