I am receiving a lot of these errors.

8196: Error in password propogation.
8197: Error in connecting to Host at the specified port. Port: 6677.
4104: Password change request for machine account ignored.

Are you using the password sychronization feature to sync passwords
with UNIX machines? Are the above events related to users accounts or
machine accounts?
Turning off "Extensive Logging" option in PSYNC properties will
prevent these errors from getting in to the Event Log Viewer but if
these errors are causing issues, it needs more troubleshooting.

The above errors are related to user accounts and machines. What type of
problems would these errors cause?

If you are syncing password with UNIX machines and not using NIS,
these errors mean the passwords are being synced. You can ignore the
machine related messages completely.

We are using Password Synchronization and NIS.

Extensive Logging is not checked in both areas.

So, do you have UNIX machines that are not part of this NIS domain and
you have them added to the PSYNC configuration?

The servers have been added under PSYNC in the Advanced section as a Two Way
Sync.
