I am running MS Anti Spyware on 3 machines at home with no problems.
Just installed it on a 4th and it keeps hanging the PC as soon as it is
launched. The aapplication will not respond. I've uninstalled and
reinstalled. My PC is not infected with any virus and appears to be clean,
according to Spybot Search and Destroy v1.3. I cannot exit the application in
any way. It does not respond and will not close using the task manager. I
have to manually power down the PC to get out of this jam. This PC is running
WinXp home editiion, has 256 mb ram, is a Pentium 3 running at 800 MHz. Any
ideas what could be causing this and how I can remedy?
Thank you kindly.

As Frank said ,post to the MS Antispyware newsgroup.
But I think you can live without MS Antispyware installed on that PC.
You may have heard that it is still BETA,that means not completed and
unfortunately cannot remove all the junk.
I see you use SpyBot S&D,you can also use Ad aware and a good av software .
They will help you,be sure!

Thank you kindly for your reply.
I downloaded the Microsoft uninstaller utility and then reinstalled and it
is now working. I assume something must've gotten corrupted in the original
download so it would not run correctly and I could not uninstall it without
the help of the Windows installer (uninstaller) utility.
All is well now!!!

Spybot v1.3 is an outdated older version. Upgrade to v1.4, seek & install
definitions, Immunize and scan again.
