disturbing, sick, and twisted things to them. In the meantime I've made a

This isn't Microsoft. This newsgroup is manned by volunteers from the
Internet-connected community of users. We can't do anything about your
accounts with Microsoft. If you only have the freebie Hotmail account,
it doesn't include support. If you paid for their premium service then
contact MSN/Hotmail to have your account's password reset (and change
the personal info so the hacker cannot use the "I forgot my password"
avenue to get back in). Then make sure to use a *strong* password
(alphabetic, numeric, and special characters without any words to avoid
a dictionary attack). Also make sure you use personal info in your
profile that only YOU know about and cannot be guessed by a hacker. The
profile info is what gets used in the "forgot your password" convenience
that Hotmail provides but which hackers can also use to purloin your
account. Or, if it is a freebie account, just abandon it and open
another freebie Hotmail account. Decide how much time you are going to
waste on this loser.

Note that if you have any friends that are receiving e-mails from this
hacker using your Hotmail account then that hacker's IP address is
known. All Hotmail outbound messages contain an X-Originating-IP header
which contains the sender's IP address of the host they used to connect
to the Hotmail server. Then do a lookup on the IP address to see what
is its IP address. You might be able to see what domain that hacker is
using and report the abuse to that domain to get them to terminate the
a-hole's account. If there is no reverse lookup on the IP address then
use the WhoIs tool from the regional IP registrars (ARIN, APNIC, etc.)
to see who is allocated that IP number. If it is an ISP, again complain
to them to terminate this abusive hacker. If it isn't an ISP (i.e.,
maybe they are running their own domain) then check the traceroute to
see what provider is upstream of this hacker and complain to them (since
they are probably the ISP for them). But first you need to get a copy
of an e-mail sent by the hacker using your Hotmail account.

Hold on there, I'm confused; did you dump your ex-
boyfriend or your ex-boyfriend's brother?

If you have ever shared access to your computer with your ex-boyfriend,
first, and foremost, check the computer for Trojans. Indeed, you may be
better off backing up just the data files, and starting over fresh.

Next you *Vanguard*'s suggestions. That is about all that you can do.
